I started re-reading Benedict’s book An Offer From a Gentleman because, I dunno, I felt inspired because he might be the next season?
Y’all… it is so bad. Intellectually I remembered that, but I forgot the visceral sensation of its badness. I appreciate Sophie, who has a smidgen of Jane Eyre energy about living on her own terms rather than dishonor herself, but Benedict is irredeemable. Lady Bridgerton might also be OK? We’ll see.

I mean, the reveal is a BIG part of Penelope’s story- I don’t see how she could have a satisfying arc without it. I dunno, I guess if at least her family knew?
Interestingly, in the books her identity as Lady Whistledown is ONLY in her own book, none of the others- Julia Quinn didn’t want to spoil that book for anyone who was reading out of order. Which means, for Plot reasons, that you never actually see Eloise get the news!

I finally got access to Netflix and watched Pen and Colin’s season and WOW did I hate Colin here.
Kinda wish Lord Debling would have worked out.
Very confused as to how Francesca’s story is gonna go because her book has a whole bunch around kids and pregnancy and I don’t think that’s gonna fly so well in regency UK with Michaela. But then again, is shondaland and lord knows Benedict’s story isn’t showing that there’s much censorship/actual fucking LAWS against being gay as there were in reality.
Also Benedict! Wtf my pal?? Why so aimless and sad? Go be an artist again, you are vastly more interesting actually being an artist instead of just sexing everyone in sight.

Ha, I had the same question about F. A relationship with another lady may provide many excellent things but the one thing is cannot provide is a free sex baby, rainbow or otherwise. Her story also has a lot to do with inheritance law and titles and not sure how that works either… Is Michaela going to be her cousin’s heir for Complicated Reasons?

That was my “wait what?” Moment for them deciding Francesca would be bi/ gay, just like, there are some really specific plot points there.
And same about Benedict. His drawings/ art were great! Why is his self esteem in the toilet? Ugh he needs a personality ASAP.
