Very good article in Teen Vogue.
Just switched my Amazon Smile (I know, I know) charity from the environmental one Iāve had for decades (Husband and I met at an event of theirs) to the Planned Parenthood Action fund. It was a little painful, but not feeling like I have the luxury of splitting my focus these days.
Interesting! And a nice lesson in the difference between the state Exclusive Economic Zone (3nm), the Teritorial Sea (12nm) and the federal Exclusive Economic Zone (200nm)/
I imagine that theyāre gonna need a pretty good sized vessel, in order to gain the sort of stability needed for surgery. The USNS Comfort and Hope are freaking ginormous.
Link at the end shows where to file a federal complaint if youāve been discriminated against in dispensing birth control, medication for rheumatoid arthritis, or miscarriage treatment.
did you all see the latest about abortion protections? 1986 Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act federally protects the right to an abortion in life-threatening and health-threatening situations.
I honestly canāt read anything on this thread. I just canāt handle this.
But, for those who are advocates and helping people, if you find someone who needs access to third trimester abortion, Boulder Abortion Clinic. It is insanely expensive, the doctor is a jerk, but the staff is super nice, and they do everything they can to make it not the worst experience of your life. PM me if you need more information.
Really proud to live in this city full of brave women.
This is the fund an extraordinary young woman, Olivia Julianna, works for. Olivia was body-shamed by the human excresence known as Matt Gaetz. Instead of clapping back, she used the notoriety to raise money.
Super proud of my state today!! Kansas elections are rarely the talk of the nation, but we got it right this time and in a big way.
Pregnancy tests in the restroom at the college are disappearing rapidly, but one at a time so I think theyāre being taken by those who need them, not trashed by forced-birthers. Iāve just reordered 100 tests (I generally put out about five at a time, and restock to that level every morning). The tests are going faster than the menstrual supplies.
We now have a campus health center, and they do pregnancy testing, but then thereās a record that isnāt even subject to HIPPA (health records at campus centers are covered by FERPA and exempt from HIPPA, which means they are much less well-protected).
You are being a hero. I know these people wonāt ever know it was you, but I wish they did so you could be thanked properly.
Iām glad they donāt because that is not the only reaction I would get, though.
I know.
I just want to put up a statue in you in a town square is all.
Well, this is a thing. Michigan has a very restrictive anti-abortion law on the books that is not currently being enforced. A petition to put a constitutional amendment to protect abortion rights on the ballot got a record number of signatures. But now it might not make it on the ballot in November because there were spaces missing between words.
Current governor says she will not enact the old law, but her opponent will do it instantly if she wins. Iām really hoping itās on the ballot. I hadnāt seen that article.
