A US Election Thread Where We Will Be Nice to One Another (but not to seditionists)

I’m seeing the same map with NV and MI leaning blue but not called on yet.
For some reason my math was off and I didn’t realize that he could have 270 with those 3 states. I was thinking he needs PA and it doesn’t look good there. So thanks for that rainbow :rainbow: of hope. Even if it’s close and Trump would ask a recount.
ETA: Need to call my sister and tell her that. I told her earlier that even if he wins those he needs PA

PA seems like it is such a hot button issue that I almost hope Biden wins without it by taking AZ, NV, MI and WI. Trump won’t possibly contest any vote counts in PA if he wins the state…and he can still lose, even if he wins PA. I feel like that is the best case scenario.

I’m somehow surprised about GA. I associate that state to Atlanta where I have a lot of family and I thought it was a democratic state. Seems I was mistaken.

If you’re not sure how much is left and where things stand, I highly recommend Nathaniel Rakich’s most recent blog post (time stamp 3:22 PM) on what’s left to count and where:

It shows Trump with a 6% lead in Pennsylvania. I thought I had heard leading up to the election that it was supposed to be close

I am still very optimistic PA will go for Biden

It’s only 85% counted, so it’s possible

Is it still doomscrolling if it’s not scrolling but refreshing?

Well, Trump is suing PA to stop counting votes. So. I’m sure this is going nowhere good…

Wut.

That confuses me. But most Trump things do. He’s ahead by quite a lot and there’s certainly no way to know which way the rest of the ballots will go, why stop counting? He could end up with an even bigger lead. I don’t pretend to understand.

You know actually I’m not surprised.

According to the NYT (paywall?), Trump’s lead has narrowed to +6 in PA, or +349k votes (as of 3:59pm). There are still 1.2M votes to be counted, most of them mail-in, which are likely to lean heavily Biden. There’s a good chance Biden will take PA when all the votes are counted.

What I’ve read indicates that the remaining ballots were mail-in, and those counts are leaning Democratic, about 78%. But that was an hour or two ago, so it may already be out of date. If Biden wins that many of the uncounted ballots, some think he will win in PA.

ETA^^ What she said.

Thought from friend on twitter, who just voted in his first US election 1 week after becoming A US citizen!

FiFoFum’s link gave us this: * Pennsylvania : Trump currently leads Biden 53 percent to 45 percent in Pennsylvania, but this one is a long way from over — 19 percent of expected votes are still uncounted, most of them Democratic-leaning mail ballots. Counties are working around the clock to finish counting, but we’re looking at Thursday or Friday before results are semi-final.

I keep finding myself thinking, “Come on, Militiagan!” And that’s a weird thing to find myself thinking. :flushed:

(My apologies to Michiganers for the nickname.)

“Biden currently leads here by just 37,350 votes”

I’m so unfocused today. I was bad yesterday, too, and honestly, I don’t have time in my life for this! Do you know how much I have to do?!? But it’s so hard to not think about it…

I ain’t got time for this election drama!

I am normally laser focused on work but the past two days I have honestly not been able to focus at all…thankfully my workload is super low this week, so I got really lucky.
