I just keep seeing people talking about it and thinking “nah, it can’t be as bad as they’re saying. It can’t be this blatantly blind to reality” so I had to see for myself that yep, it actually is.

Are concerns about Biden re: dementia or general brain-missingness just conspiracy theory kookiness or a legit valid concern? I hear this one from some people in my life who don’t like Trump but also aren’t confident that a vote for Biden isn’t a vote for unnamed people behind the scenes actually pulling the strings.
He seems pretty cognitively with it in general. He has a stutter which can cause his speech to be disfluent at times. I think that’s what the conspiracy folks are fixated on.

TBH, I think Biden has always been prone to rambling and tangents and things like that. My mom saw him speak a long time ago and said he was exactly the same. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him; it’s just how he is.

There is some evidence that the “Biden has dementia” critique is coming directly from Russia and Russian election interference/targeting.
So, unfortunately, this is likely untrue and hitting exactly the people they are trying to sway.

Seeing Biden speak extemporaneously clears it up for me. His stutter is more apparent sometimes but he can clearly put his thoughts together to coherently answer a question or something. He does kind of ramble sometimes but it comes off to me more like wanting to make sure he hits all the points than anything else.
Also I hate that we have to battle misinformation from Russia and shit. I know there’s always been some level of misinformation in politics but this is just a new level. Ugh.
