I’ll see if I can get enough raw data to do anything with but it would be an interesting visual
It would be quite easy with a GIS.
Census block data is super easy to get, and I can ask someone for the voter file if we want to look at districts by voting…
Is there a dataset for the postal sorting equipment? If we could get a volunteer or two to make it a CSV with lat, long (easy to pull from google) we could probably find correlations with very little work.
Yeah it’s the sorting equipment that I was thinking if needing data for. With that I should be able to put something together in like 15 minutes
That would still be counted if they numbered all of them, it wont be counted if they just put in an empty ballot or number them all the same or dont number them at all.
Thats why parties want to be at the top of the ballot so they get the votes of those that just number from top to bottom. They have to count it if its filled in properly in case that is the genuine representation of the voters preference.
Ah thanks. I just remember going over that with the group of “dumb ways to vote” with my highschool S&E teacher.
It is a dumb way to vote, I feel like people should just put a blank ballot in instead if they want to protest
But also you’re like. required to vote…what a concept.
Yeah it’s a totally crazy concept
So Kelly Anne is leaving - wow. I would love to be a fly on the wall with the debates her and her husband have. I REALLY want to know why she is leaving and not the “I need to spend more time with my family “Schlick.
It may actually be that family thing. Her husband is leaving his job at the Lincoln project, too. Her daughter, who has a pretty big following online, was threatening emancipation and accusing her parents of abuse online this week. Quite publicly.
I have been following Claudia on TikTok for a while now AND I AM HERE FOR THIS. She is kinda my hero.
I did not know this. I saw a little blurb that mentioned daughter issues but no real details. Too much political news to follow in both our countries that is for sure. The spend time with more family is what seems to be used all the time so I don’t believe it for the most part.
Yup. I have been part of crafting the public message of “more time with family” before and it’s a lie most of the time
I saw an article about her daughter wanting emancipation, as well as some articles before, and the announcement about Kellyanne leaving pretty quickly afterwards. The fact that BOTH Kellyanne and George are leaving their posts made me think that something pretty big beyond TikTok posts was going on with the daughter and maybe some of the siblings.
So I watched the RNC last night because I was curious to hear Melania speak. I will admit I fell asleep because I was exhausted while she was talking.
I was not blown away by anyone or anything. I wish there was at least some potential policy initiatives or directions given besides “my dad’s going to fight for you and fix this all”. The small business commentary I struggled with too, because aren’t these businesses in even more trouble right now? And thanks to @anomalily’s fantastic live steam in the Shesession, how can the current government be helping women if they can’t go back to work?
What is it with the Trump sons and the beards?
I also read up about the importance of winning Wisconsin and the electoral colleges which helped to understand why some of the regular people that spoke were selected.
Ngl the fact that the Republicans literally decided to not have a 2020 party platform… just another stone in my wall of worry.
The Republican party really doesn’t want any (white, married) women to have jobs.
I love the Colbert Avengers Endgame intro for the RNC:
(And in case you missed it last week, the Democrat version:)
What was the deal with Kimberly Guilfoyle yelling her speech? Also… I love that they needed speakers so badly that they were like “hey, jr’s girlfriend doesn’t have a real job right now, she’s probably available.”
