2020 BINGO -- A choose-your-own-goals challenge

I’m in! I found it difficult to come up with goals (why?).

I realized I did one of my squares yesterday. Here we go!

Update:

I accomplished the bonus task I added to my “free” square (donating old running sneakers at the running store where I work).

Also, I made a doctor’s appointment for February 6th, so that’s another one in progress! I made real headway cleaning the extra bedrooms new year’s day, but there’s still plenty more to do, and a couple things to buy and pictures to hang before they are actually put together usable rooms.

I set up my sinking fund automatic deposits. Woohoo! I’m currently working on building up to a five min plank as well. I held a plank for 1.5 mins today. I also have been keeping up with running 3 times a week so I can train for the Half Marathon that I registered for (in June). Mr Pug and I are pulling together our funds to open up Puglets 529 plan, that should be all set by next week. I have a 1:1 meeting with my boss next week and I plan to negotiate for more vacation days at that meeting. Fingers crossed! I’m shooting for an extra week. There are 2 other employees that I know of that have more vacation time so it’s not impossible and I’m willing to take less of or no raise to get more time off. My personal time is so much more valuable to me at this point.

I want to play!! I want to make a each-column-is-themed, action-based bingo card. Will post within the next week!

Got two pieces of low-hanging fruit finished over the weekend.

Next completed goal will be the 5k race which is on Saturday, assuming I want to consider finishing doing it rather than requiring I run the whole thing. I’m only up to about a mile and a half of straight running at the moment.

I know I am late to the party but here is my Bingo card! I am still noodling on some of them but I think most of them are achievable this year.

One square filled in! The changes were small, but concrete, so they count.

I’m working on I5 and I2.

These are actually the best changes based on what I’ve read. Good job MJ!

What were the changes if you don’t mind my prying?

  • Delete birthday dessert freebie reminders from calendar
  • Buy smaller size entree at restaurant - change environment, and know myself. I can tell myself I will pay a couple extra dollars for double the food, then take half home, but I will instead eat everything in front of me.
  • Leave money at home so I can’t impulsively buy food

Last night I won an eBay auction for a used Osprey Child Carrier. This will come in handy for hiking that “4k footer”. Also pleased with myself for buying used (financially and environmentally).

OK I just completed one square. I submitted two photos of Lil Bug to the cat calendar contest.

I think I’ll start looking for tracking methods for things like “make one vegetarian meal a week,” “write one handwritten letter a month.”

Edit: Completed one square! Paid off physical therapy bill.

2 weeks into the new year – how is everyone doing?

For discussion, is there a row you have your eye on for either your first bingo or your most likely bingo?

I think my most likely is definitely the B column! Others involve more long-term achievements.

I think mine is probably going to be my first row, which includes:

  • Run 10K. I expect to do in a race in February, but if I walk a bunch of it I’m going to try hold off checking this off until I can run it near continuously.
  • Complete a carpentry project. I could do this any weekend or over a couple weekends. I really want to make like, a bench but I should probably start with something easier…
  • Pay of the Highlander. Slated for late Feb to early March, depending on when we get our tax return.
  • Plant 2 fruit trees. This will happen when I get trees delivered, late March to early April.
  • Do Celtic Cross tarot reading. Done!

So, I probably won’t finish my first row until March or April.
