I’ve been whistling this song for weeks and could not remember any of the lyrics so it was ungoogleable but I finally remembered to sing it in my phone.
Replacement started at 8am (2 hours ago). Many strange and unexpected noises.
Today’s tiny victory is that I can just write a check for this without worry.
well fudge - lines only passed 1/2 tests, so they will redo one test over night to check for any leaks. No A/C tonight. But cool front coming in so we will live. Growing up without A/C prepared me for this!
With a sinking feeling, I received a notification that my grocery order had out of stock items. I was delighted when it turns out that was just a red onion, and they were offering to substitute an organic red onion instead. Easy Peezy, dinner menu preserved.
Amazon sent an “ordered delivered” notice with a picture of someone else’s house. Husband decided to walk the block just in case- lo and behold it was only one house over!
I went running for the first time in … Nine months? Maybe longer? It wasn’t pretty. Or fast. Or even running most of the time, but there were stretches that were not walking and I liked how I felt.
In front of my house is a big native hydrangea ( Hydrangea arborescens) and on the other end a giant, giant colony of native elderberry (Sambucus nigra). Both are blooming now, but that’s not the victory. The victory is the native bees. So many, so loud. It’s like hearing a chainsaw when you walk outside.
I’m so jealous!! I’m working on making my yards a bird-, bee-, and bug-friendly habitat, but it’s slow-going removing all the rocks layered with landscape fabric and planting planting native plants . Not to mention all the old plant info ID cards I’ve dug up that brag “grown with neonicotinoids!” …
Yesterday: gave away a Costco size bottle of conditioner to Mom, who is visiting (by car, not plane…which makes this hand off possible!)
Today: unpacked 4 partially filled boxes. Things are not “perfectly” put away, but office supplies got organized & everything else is at least find-able and put away*.
TC: why didn’t I do the unpacking before Mom visited?
*ETA: Um…actually I have a pile of books on the floor where one of the boxes was. That is…apparently…put away, in my mind…
Pollinators have always liked a lot of my perennials but last year I planted some stuff that I had read they specifically like. I’m excited to have it for them.
