Hmmm. I don’t think I need more eggs. Just a sperm egg combo that isn’t a dud.
Also, like, more and better quality embryos and lower miscarriage IIRC. For at least some of the supplements.
Ok, I will definitely investigate when I get the book!
OTOH, I also popped 25 pills a day and did end up with a living kiddo? Unclear causality, obviously. But I was on the supplement protocol at the time since we were about to do IVF retrieval number three.
ETA and we know we had shit embryo quality on average
The “did this work or was it totally random?” Is hard. A friend and their partner did the supplements and got a surprise baby right before starting IVF but they’d been trying just over a year, and second surprise baby has not occurred. (Also no IVF but they are maybe gonna stop at 1 if 2 doesn’t happen without extra medical intervention)
Does anyone have a coq10 they’re confident is good quality? Been looking online at labdoor and ratings but my head is spinning.
Qunol ubiquinol is the one I’ve been using but it’s been a long time since I looked at research on it.
ETA being able to get it for a good price at Costco while being the best form (ubiquinol versus “normal” coq10) may have played a role. I also had it on S&S from them directly for a while for the discount though. I never buy supplements from Amazon.
I take it as part of my migraine prevention routine and I buy the kirkland brand CoQ10 capsules from Costco. I take 300 mg per day.
My fertility doctor recommended Theralogix for coq10: he said that he has asked different brands for testing quality results, and they were the best. I’ve been taking their theranatal vitamin for awhile.
They have a great reputation. Maybe I’ll switch after this bottle. I know I’ve used… something of theirs in the past. I think that’s who made a ton of the stuff I needed for my SIBO protocol come to think of it.
Can you all help me make a trying-related decision? Should I try to get in to my OB/GYN for a medicated, monitored IUI in April, or should I wait until May with the fertility doctor?
We missed trying in March as we dealt with all of the doctor-switching stuff, and it looks like we won’t be able to try in April either with our new fertility doctor. Unless something big goes wrong, we should be able to start trying with them in May.
We could try to make a medicated, monitored IUI work with my OB/GYN in April, but in the past, we’ve had timing hiccups with them. I don’t think they have a set process for this, and if things go wrong again, we’d lose another vial of sperm. It would be a lot of work on our end to coordinate.
We have 3.5 vials of sperm left. We theoretically could get more, but it would take time and be expensive.
My HSG was this current cycle, so it bums me out to think I went through the pain and stress of it without getting the benefits from it, since we wouldn’t be trying for awhile afterwards.
Oh, edit for anyone who doesn’t follow my journal: two things went wrong since I last posted that delayed the timeline. I know I was more optimistic when I last posted.
Edit 2: something else went wrong, so we’re up to three barriers to getting things going again.
I’m convinced Theralogix has the best inositol. Had my issues come back using a diff brand and not convinced it was just dosing error (misread the “per serving” s)
I’m seeing “NeoQ10” from that brand on Amazon - is that the correct one?
I’m torn between “relax a little and let things happen” and “TAKE ALL THE THINGS”
The one my doctor recommended was this: TheraNatal® OvaVite® Vitamin | Theralogix
If you do decide to go the supplement route, I’d buy directly from the supplier so that the quality is guaranteed.
Oh, and I have a provider code I can dig up to save you some money if you want it.
That would be amazing. This shit isn’t cheap.
Discount code: 180112
I think you can only place a subscribe and save order online, but you can call and do a one-off if you want.
Ok, so it looks like it covers Co-Q10, prenatal, and choline, but not DHA?
Oh, idk: I have bought the prenatal vitamins, but my wife ordered the last round of everything else, so idk how it worked.
So it looks like the company has a prenatal with DHA, one with coq10, but nothing with both.
I ordered more prenatals recently, so I might get the one that is just the CoQ10 standalone until I run out, which also would mean if I got pregnant I could still take the prenatal (was advised not to use CoQ10 after pregnancy started).
That seems smart!
