The Not Pregnant...Yet Thread

Hmm, that’s interesting. I guess if my clinic starts seeing decent results at 1.06 based on their specific numbers, that might be a good sign then.

Yes, relative to your clinic is the absolute most important thing there

That makes sense too, because my first clinic said they they got results with anything above 0.5 for IVF.

I guess I’ll find out for sure what’s up when I talk to the doctor tomorrow eve. We have our follow-up phone appointment then, where we discuss results and next steps, etc.

Can I have a million gold stars, please? Some of you may remember that someone in our life offered to be a known donor in case guy #1 falls through for any reason. Potential donor #2 lives in Milwaukee, and I’ve been thinking that I should start looking into shipping his sperm now, in case we run into quarantine issues there too. It was so stressful and annoying to do in Boston that I’ve been putting it off.

I couldn’t find any sperm banks in Milwaukee, so I started calling fertility clinics. I’ve called 3 places and have two solid leads, which it took me weeks of calls to get in Boston.

Midwesterners are the best!

Fiiinally went in to get my routine hormone retest blood draw, we’ll see if metformin and inositol are still working. Also seeing a temp dip on schedule, crossing fingers for an egg! 70 days is too long between cycles :weary:

Naturally, my positive OPK was 2 days early and when Husband left town :upside_down_face: let’s just hope O-2 has the same odds as… well let’s be honest we’re infertile AF I’m sure it doesn’t matter either way LOL. Just sucks- I had some good egg white CM this cycle! Not a guarantee with my dusty old lady ovaries running the show.

My message about the bleeding was responded to with “make a virtual or office appointment” and I tried but they are shut down today because of weather. I will try calling tomorrow. Nothing gets me down like waiting for medical stuff though.

I had my phone appointment with the doctor. I think it went well. He told me everything I already saw about my labs and says he doesn’t think the platelet thing is a big deal. He was happy about the 1.31 AMH because he says most women he sees my age are below 1.

He gave me the full scoop on Swan’s analysis too (Swan is not a big numbers guy so all he remembered was “really good”).

Sperms

The only thing he was below average on was volume (1.5), which Swan attributed to it being so early in the morning, and the doctor attributed to possibly being a bit dehydrated. Otherwise, things were really good—the total count was 144m, which he said is on the higher side of normal.

The doctor also gave me my list of meds so that I could start shopping around. @Bracken_Joy it seems like IVFPharmacy is actually the cheapest way for me to go too! The pricing was identical to the Mexican spot, but without having to take a day off work and use a tank of gas. So I’m probably ordering those tomorrow.

Meds

Gonal-F 900 pen x 2
Gonal-F 450 pen x1
Menopur 20 x 75 IU
Ganarelix or Cetrotide 250 mcg x4
Ovidrel 250 mcg x 1

Looks like they’ll cost around $1600–$1700.

He said I should start the meds on CD3 or CD4, so that’ll be somewhere around the 17–19th, based on when I am pretty sure I ovulated.

I’m supposed to talk to the finance lady tomorrow to get the final numbers so that I can apply for the zero-interest loan. But the doctor was willing to ballpark me:
$11k retrieval + IVF
$4k FET
$3–5k PGS (depending on # of embryos tested)

So that’s $18k–20k, and then the ~$1600 for the meds. Let’s call it $22k to be safe. We got $3k from our GoFundMe, and I would feel comfortable taking out $7k in the interest-free loan, based on the payment table. So that means that about $13k must come out of our meager savings.

It is what it is. Hopefully, we will get lucky and get a baby in exchange for being willing to impoverish ourselves. The SART calculator tells me that at my current age, weight, and AMH, I’ve got about a 29% chance the first try. I’m keeping my fingers crossed so hard that we get a good number of embryos so that there can be multiple tries if need be!

:crossed_fingers:t2: I pulled 10k out of my IRA and put the rest on a couple of 0% interest cards. Actually, I used all credit cards and just paid off the non 0% ones quickly with the IRA money. I think I got enough back in rewards to buy the FET meds.

2 days post dip and no +opk. :sob:

I woke up sore, exhausted, and migrainey though, so maybe…:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

What if GOFing makes me not ovulate? Because that’s what it feels like. Uuuugh.

ETA: oh. My testosterone is back up to 70… :sob::sob::sob:

SirB is already super booked up through April. So much travel. And he has 4 days when (hopefully) we’ll be doing the IUI at the end of Feb, but it’s super tricky with our total lack of childcare and not being allowed to bring a kid with you. This feels like beating my head against a wall. How the fuck is anyone supposed to be able to do this?!!

Can he provide a sample ahead of time to keep on ice?

We once tag-teamed an IUI (the Boy went and did his thing, then came back and I drove out) but it was super stressful and we had a terrible sample for that one. I hope you can work something out!

He’s my child care though, when I head in.

That is the plan, but it doesn’t work if he’s out of state lol. And it’s not just the day of the IUI. I need to do my HSG, I’m not sure they want a scan before the IUI, etc.

11 dpo, already cramping, mad about it. Also my shortest cycle yet - FF thinks I ovulated CD 10, and I usually barely make it to a 12 day LP.

I had been doing daily affirmations about it working this cycle and was very attached to the idea of an October due date and clearly that hasn’t worked. Feeling bummed and discouraged. Gonna wait for bleed, have my minor bacchanalia of wine, coffee, and sushi, then threaten my body with more produce and exercise and less caffeine until it pregnancies into submission.
