I never heard this term before! Hahaha!
I love this. Sooo accurate (though they’re slightly more crunchy…)
And less sweet
I know of what you speak with the pee party. Slightly larger bathroom, but much larger dog to make up for it. Plus a doggy preference for sitting in your lap regardless of what you were doing, and enough height to accomplish it without assistance or consent.
These three are very interested in all things bathroom related. They love to climb on my lap while I’m peeing or try to peek into the toilet bowl. I’m very proficient at closing the lid before they can get into trouble. But somehow they never developed a taste for shredding toilet paper, so that’s a plus.
All a Dane has to do to get on your lap while you pee is turn around and sit down…
So, do we have a prize for “most unusual Christmas morning activity”? Because I’d like to nominate the time I spent spreading Maalox on a Milk-bone this morning. I think I got most of a full dose into old dog, and the barfing• is somewhat reduced.
• Yesterday was a vet visit and medication regime change that will hopefully be a longer-term solution for him)
Edit to correct the drug name just in case
I didn’t know mylanta was pet safe. That’s good to know.
I’m so sorry your beautiful pup isn’t feeling well
I said the wrong drug- this was maalox. I don’t know what’s in mylanta. But maalox, tums ( check for artificial sweeteners and avoid them), and simethecone are all safe. There’s simethecone in the maalox, so don’t double up.
His new meds regimen also includes Prilosec and carafate, so there are lots of digestive options for dogs. I don’t know what dosing will be like- ours just gets regular human doses since he’s average human size.
Oh, and missed this bit. Thanks. This is a long-term thing, almost certainly due to anti inflammatory drugs. Another change is to a liquid formulation of that which is supposed to be easier on the stomach.
Yes, they also believe the burst ulcer that wept through my dogs stomach lining last month was from one of her anti inflammatory cancer-related meds (Piroxicam).
She was on carafate post surgery I believe. Now she’s on omeprazole. Maybe I could ask them about tums.
Took a hike today after work with my healing girl. I’m so grateful to know her.
Then I took a bath which was mostly just my dog obsessively staring at me over the toilet seat through the door crack & trying to keep the cat out of the water.
All the dog barf is here still. Or again.
This is Daisy, my moms old girl. She’s only had her about a year, but she’s a sweetheart.
