Have any of you collected cards? Pokemon, sports?
How does it work? Is it social?

I can only say that most people at the Pokemon/sports card store that I have been to are adult men who appear to be regulars.
When I collected Star Wars stuff (not cards) there was an active group that had social events.

I played Magic the gathering when I was younger (and a critical part of that is collecting cards to build out your deck). Back then, yes, quite social- played with kids after school, went to game shops and release events, played at tournaments and casual nights at the local game shop. Idk how the poke mania is now though- I know there’s a lot of drive around and try vending machines at stores and share about your finds on TikTok so that may be less in person social now?
Id find my local game shop though and start there, ask about their events and community and so on.

Hmmm maybe I’ll ask if there is a pokemon group at school. I am not driving to a store or getting tik tok 
. We saw 3 kids selling pokemon and sports cards on the street yesterday and the pokemon ones hypnotized B1 (main prior exposure is books). Facts and stats and memorizing and fantasy line up with his brain and I am open to a small investment.

Kiddo likes to collect the cards but zero interest in playing the game. The kids like to look at and maybe swap cards (Kiddo had a learning experience about trading away a shiny card he liked that I guess was a good one for kids that actually play?)
When Kiddo is at kids d&d every Friday and they take a break in the middle, the kids dash over to the card area to look through the drawers and maybe pick out some individual cards and check the computer that’s there to see how much they’re worth and then ask their adult to buy them sometimes. The cards are usually pretty cheap individually but I don’t love that their “social” aspect of it is looking at cards together before harassing an adult about money.
Having a binder at home with those 3x3 card sleeve pages is pretty normal and might help open conversations with other kids, but beyond that I don’t think it’s going to be a hidden opportunity for a social group if that’s what you’re looking for. (Oh and I recommend a pencil pouch for the binder to hold any unsorted cards, that’s been helpful for my sanity around the house.)

Why is my shop vac not sucking? It has a new filter and there’s nothing clogging the attachments. What should I check?

- All attachment points fully locked/screwed in? Could just be losing suction through gaps.

Some also have an option to be a blower. Do you have something connected or a switch flipped in a way to use that?

My mom just did this with a HEPA vacuum and it turned out the filter was shrink wrapped with plastic and she didn’t open that layer (just an outer plastic layer). Double check the filter?

sometimes ive managed to get something stuck in the end of the tube that goes into the body of the vacuum. there is usually a little guard there to keep stuff from running directly into the motor housing and sometimes stuff gets stuck behind it.

I need to get a new vacuum. We have always been dyson people but I am open to other options.

I have a cheap cordless stick vacuum and I hate it but I couldn’t stomach the 
nice ones. So no recs just solidarity that it sucks.

I loved my Miele.
I got it used for a ridiculously low price because they maybe didn’t know what they had? I only sold it because I was in a pinch for money, and I sold it for less than I should have too.
I miss it, but I’ve become a robot vacuum + stick broom person.

i have a tineco cordless stick vacuum that im happy with and would repurchase something similar. i also have a miele canister that plugs in that is stronger but more annoying to use that i got 2nd hand. eufy robot vacuum. all hardwood floors, 1 cat, minimal tracked in mess.
