I already do. I can do 50 pushups on my fists but eventually my hands give out. I can plank, too, thought my hands usually give out.
Ohhhhhhh well that won’t help you get further progress then hahaha
Yea, I’m seronegative now after years of treatment and that’s on my file and I have to reexplain to every fucking doctor that RA is a clinical diagnosis and only 60% of RA patients even have RA factor.
Fun fact - america is so broken, I just couldn’t afford or get the lab tests for RA factor in the US without insurance. I got them for less than $8 USD in India after 2 years of not being able to get them in the US.
That fact is so fun.
NGL, I kinda want to be able to to pass the FBI test* without any modifications, which means bent wrist push ups.
*I am not actually going to take it I just want to know I am fit enough to pass it.
Well if I come up with more ideas of things you’re already doing I’ll let you know
WANT ANOTHER FUN FACT? The same set of tests bill at $485 dollars in the us.
I agree that the odds of finding a PT your insurance covers to help with this is very small. Your best bet is to locate someone via references you trust - ideally sport-specific ones - in sports medicine - trainers with actual science/physiology backgrounds & experience.
I’ve broken one wrist and had partial tendon tear in opposite side forearm and have had rotator cuff repair/shoulder separation on the same side as the broken wrist (yay ice hockey!). I haven’t been able to strength build in the specific way you are mentioning with this injury history, but I also haven’t prioritized it. The repaired wrist is actually the most limiting of all of the damage. None of the various PT experiences I’ve had remotely worked for or toward that type of goal.
Yea, I will say that my hand therapist was actually based at the Portland professional soccer team stadium’s sports therapy facility (for which my insurance company has naming rights) so at least there might be someone with a athletic bg.
@Elle is smart about not being limited by what my insurance will cover; I might see though if I can get my rheumy to write my a prescription tho since I am covered for RA occupational therapy sessions and most sports therapy hand people would be willing to bill to that.
Have you watched Tiger King? Is it inappropriate to watch with my daughter who will be 13 tomorrow?
I’d say wildly inappropriate, but also that most of my peers watched worse at that age
I agreewith @Elle. The second episode(I think?) goes into how one of the places was basically a sex cult taking advantage of young women.
From the little I know about the show I feel it’s wildly inappropriate for myself and wish I could remove it entirely from my Netflix account.
Anyone have a favorite meatloaf recipe? Thinking fairly neutral seasonings (so not Italian spices, not a sweet glaze, etc).
Cross posted on my journal.
Why do quesadillas only have 2 temperatures - scalding or not hot anymore?
I don’t know but they need to fix that.
In my opinion it’s inappropriate, there are lots of “funny characters” but they’re real people.
Lots of language, manipulative relationships, and someone shoots & kills themselves accidentally.
I’d say it’s one of those that seems funny and harmless at the time, but might linger on a teens mind.
BUT I accidentally watched Full Metal Jacket when I was like eight. So. Grain of salt
Thanks for the input on Tiger King. I want to keep my baby girl innocent and unblemished as long as possible, so we’ll skip it.
This is true of all melted cheese products.
It’s for the best. Honestly there is some “entertainment” value in the show, but it’s the kind that you feel bad about later. It’s like a train wreck you can’t look away from. The sheer over the top ridiculousness of it distracts you from the fact that you are watching a lot of animal abuse, misogyny and sex crimes. It’s all very sad stories when you set away from the memes.
