I’m trying to figure out how to buy new cell phones in bulk. How do companies buy phones for their employees? I assume they don’t pay consumer prices. I want 4-6 of them, not 500, if that makes a difference. Anyone know how this works?

Ignore me if you already decided, obviously!

I say yes based on the time of year. We are just barely out of the most tired time. Soon the days will be so long and the weather will be so nice. Idk about you but I have way more energy for extra evening activities this time of year.

Not a question but this is one of the more heavily trafficked threads, so here’s a PSA:

some of the telcos have independent small business reps who will give you a bit of a deal in return for signing up with them. I don’t know the degree of sketch.

In my experience it has become less common for companies to buy phones, and instead they expect employees to bring their own, with or without giving them an allowance or letting them expense them back.

I remember the ‘innovation agency’ I was working at in 2018 offering us a free DNA plus health propensity analysis, and they were shocked that I turned it down for privacy policy reasons. Sad to see it being proven correct to be that skeptical.

I just deleted mine this morning.

I have my friend’s business registration number and an appointment with a small business sales person from Samsung. Any Canadians want a cheap(er) new phone?

When shopping at Target do you have to have a circle membership and put your phone number in to receive a posted sale price? Otherwise it’s full price?

No, I don’t think so. I think the Circle membership gives you access to some other deals though.

I think it’s only when it’s posted as “circle members, get $25 off $75 of diapers” etc type sign.

I bought things that had 50% off sale signs and did not get the discount. Guess I’ll have to go back. I don’t shop there often but I feel like that’s happened before.

They may have changed it. I do know you can be a circle member without having one of the cards, classic loyalty program style.

It’s Circle Week at my target so I think the sales are exclusive. I thought I was getting BOGO half off strawberries yesterday and then did not…

It’s annoying! I buy things that are on sale because I don’t want the thing if it’s full price.

I hear ya. I didn’t mind bc it was something I was going to buy anyway, but it did sting to not see the discount!!

We encountered this Target Circle thing last Christmas, when we were buying a present. We opted to pay full. price rather than give them our information to join Circle. It’s free to join, but the cost is a little less control over your privacy.

Here’s the FAQ for Circle.

Does anyone have advice about buying my first bird feeder? I don’t know where to start. (I’m in Denver.)

I like the squirrel proof ones, mine are from Squirrel Buster.

The more squirrel proof the better. And buy the no waste seed. Is there a Wild Birds Unlimited store around?

Be sure to clean them weekly- they can spread some pretty nasty diseases between birds, alas. The maintenance isn’t just a hand wave “I know we should BUT” type thing. Hence why I have no feeders right now- I know I’m not up for proper disease control. Not ready to open a bird restaurant haha.

Starting with suet blocks and a suet cage is a nice easy way to try having one for cheap though.
