Do not use upholstery tacks on your foot. That was horrifying.
Try moisturizing because it is nice for feet. Then distract pain centres with heat and cold or menthol or capaicin

Sounds like it could be a Morton’s neuroma on your foot? I have them in both feet but they only bother me occasionally. I can make it stop feeling like there is something under my feet very quickly if I wear arch supports with metatarsal support.
It could be a minor nerve or tissue thing. Nerves and soft tissue can get kind of tangled and stuck (in layman’s terms) and it can cause a little pinprick sort of feeling like you have something sharp in your skin. It happens a lot to dancers and other athletes who are in foot-centric sports but it can also happen due to wearing shoes that are not supportive or where your feet are a bit squished together (also to people like factory workers).
Myofascial release can help, even self massage can help, plus foot stretching and good shoes. That said mine is pretty permanently off and on, especially after I do a more intensive workout, but my body is insane so IDK if that’s common, lol.
ETA: looks like Rosie beat me to it! And provided the actual name, haha.
Could also be a wart, those can have a deep hard core causing pressure before you can see the spot of them.
Ugh, yes, good point. I also get warts a lot. I have one now. My feet are gross y’all.
I have one single spot I’ve had a wart multiple times in my life. I think it’s basically guaranteed if you did mat sports and/or group student living at any point.
Yes! I have a couple spots where they keep coming back. My body is a wonderland…of fungus.
My advice if you have one Meerkat is to not use the type of wart remover that comes on a little sticker. Instead, I’d buy the kind that comes in a tube so you can really slather the shit out of it and burn it out.
I would think that a wart would feel more lumpy though, like a zit? This is more of a tiny stabbing feeling. And it seems to be better in the mornings (after laying in bed all night) and worse in the afternoons.
Oh also I realize I said the wrong thing above - it’s in the heel of my foot, not the front part. But it’s round so my brain went to “ball”.
I get these sometimes from tiny cactus hairs that I accidentally brushed up against. What’s your household succulent population like?
Plantar warts actually aren’t lumpy at all, they are like, little hard spots on your foot that actually turn into a little hole in your foot. They are the opposite of warts other places.
I have some aloe but that’s it. Last time I felt this there was obviously a dog hair sticking out of my foot, that’s a constant menace around here.
I’d probably do the after talk, but offer a small discount for the following year at the end of that. So, posted hours til 3, after talk til 3:30. Make a list made of the organizations that stayed to the end, and publish what you intend to do, so people know. This won’t work if you’re not charging for the space. If you provide lunch, then offer extras, dessert, etc. to people who stay?
Duct tape to the bottom of foot and then rip it off to grab any dog hair splinters?
Are you sure you own a dog and not a porcupine? None of my dogs have had hair that could pierce my skin.
If it is possibly a splinter, fine plant spine, glass shard see if you can figure out the direction of entry, then use sticky tape to try to pull it out by applying and then pulling off the tape in the direction the object is pointing out from your skin.
Oops - cross-post with Marcela
All the dogs I’ve owned have had hairs that can do this?
Our dogs do, but Husband is convinced they do not. I think the difference is not the hairs but the effects of relatively higher or lower levels of estrogen in human skin.
Meanwhile my partner has hair that does this
Yep, also have this issue since husband cuts his hair at home
I’ve been cutting Marmalade’s hair since the pandemic and we do it in the shower (has a hair trap under the drain) so it stays contained!
Our shower is a minuscule shit box from hell.
