I can speak only for myself - I would have no objection and I’ve never been told that it’s unethical.
Yay! The experts say I can make friends!
TBD if I possess the necessary skills, but that is different.
@marcela the good thing is that I think it is unlikely to come across as gross or creepy. Working customer service and medical jobs the romantic overtures were always so gross. But even when I had to decline friend overtures for ethical reasons I was never grossed out.
I met one of my local friends because she was my Uber driver! We chatted a lot on the long car ride (I was going to a meetup and talking about how I’d just moved). I randomly offered her a cookie because it didn’t feel weird in the moment, and she accepted! So I gave her a cookie. By the time we got there I was like, “I really click with her I’ll just ask.” I think I said something like, “I know this is weird and if the answer is no I’ll still give you 5 stars, but would you want to exchange numbers and hang out sometime?” She was like SURE! Haha, and we’re still friends!
I also say yes!
I’ve made friends on both sides of that equation - my favorite jobs for making friends were as a barista and working at a gas station As an introvert, it was awesome to get to know people a bit at a time through transaction conversations, and there was never pressure to say yes or no when either of us asked about hanging out.
And agree, friendship building is different from getting hit on, except for one super cute artist filmmaker dude I met who later gave me my kiddo I always had rejection responses ready days ahead so thankfully my tips weren’t affected and we kept the business Although there was one person who didn’t get it and I ended up sending my boyfriend to their house with the beer they’d bought and left on the counter with a rose and a note
How do I find someone to repair windows? Like the interior mechanism and seating of it? I see companies advertise window replacements but can’t find anything for window repair. I feel like I’m looking in the wrong place? Or is it the same people?
I just googled “window repair near me” and got several possibilities, so I’d start there.
Yours must be fairly new? Are they a brand?
About 30 years old, no idea on brand. Window repair brings up car glass for me. The home specific ones further down the list, the websites only talk about replacement bids.
ETA one became badly unseated when we had to repair the front of the house last year and replace dry rotted support beams and stuff. Another two have broken tracks from before we moved in, so you can’t really open them.
Hmm. I guess I’d call one of the companies and ask if they could refer you to a repair person?
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for cleaning a hat?
I’m a hat person and wear one nearly every day including at work but I’ve gotten a bit too casual with my favorite work hat and have been keeping it on during non work sweaty monster times (workouts, yard work, etc). I have tried scrubbing with a tooth brush with some vinegar and then another time with a baking soda paste and gently washing in the machine. No luck yet.
Thanks in advance!
Try sunlight / dawn? Because dish soap is designed to cut grease, it may remove the oils from your hat.
I hear that people wash them in the dishwasher?
And if that doesn’t work, I’d go to Home Depot and ask someone who works in the window department.
I wash hats like that in the clothes washer inside a lingerie bag and then I air dry them!
Do your hats shrink when you do that? Ours have been, and I’ve been wondering if our washing machine issues have been striking again. Or if hats just always shrink in the wash.
DH hasn’t mentioned anything about that! I wash them on cold tho. I hand wash mine since it’s silk lined (curly hair thing) in cool water with woolite, like any other hand-wash delicate.
Good to know! I bet it’s our washer then.
When I used a laundromat I had shrinking happen on “cold” allllllll the time. I know you don’t use a laundromat but I feel like it’s def a thing where some washers say they are washing on cold and they aren’t.
I wonder! That’s a good theory. We’ve been experimenting and can’t figure it out.
Yes absolutely! Thx.
That is what I’ve been doing for my hats generally but this stain persists
Try an enzyme cleaner
