Oh and don’t burn it. Trash bag it and put it in the trash, NOT compost.

We discovered what they were because Meowlet picked a “flower” and handed it to me :face_with_spiral_eyes: delightful. I mean probably some form of parsnip but also just don’t want them around.

What is an extension service

Google “extension services near me” or I found this

https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/extension-search/

. They’re university outreach services. Part of land grant colleges being publicly funded, they can help with gardening, land management, canning, all sorts of stuff.

If it’s hogweed/cow parsnip you still want to get rid of it in areas Meowlet has access too because the sap makes you super photosensitive to the point of blistering.

Ask me how I know :upside_down_face:

Is there a part number on it? If you find one, try a google search on it.
It looks like a juicing adapter for a food processor to me.

Opinions wanted! I need to decide what color I want the wood headers on my new screen porch. The posts are brownish metal so I was thinking of wrapping the wood in a different but similar brownish metal. Fascia maybe? It comes in a roll. Now I’m considering painting the headers white which is what I have on my front porch, but those posts are white so that makes sense. There will be a stripe of white up at the roofline under the shingles like the first picture no matter what, because this matches the rest of the house. The inside ceiling will be painted white beadboard like the front porch. The roof is not framed yet so I can’t do actual pictures, so I have computer renderings and pics of my front porch that I did some really bad marking up on so you can get a very rough idea. Brown or white headers?

Tricky! From the outside, I prefer the brown but from the inside I prefer the white!

I guess I’ll say brown to match the bottom. Footers?

Not really footers, just a small piece of metal for the screen to clamp into. It might only be an inch or so high, not as much as the computer pics show. The designer showed pics like I was building it from wood. I don’t know if I can get paint to match metal? This is the post color.

So the posts, the part at the bottom and the part at the top are all of this material?

Posts, piece at bottom and small horizontal piece a couple feet up are all the same metal. There is no metal at the top unless I decide to wrap it with the similar but different stuff. They do not have actual matching metal large enough to make headers.

I probably have a couple of days to decide. My first choice is probably white inside and brown outside, but I’m not sure that’s an option unless I can get paint matched to the metal. I will ask my paint store tomorrow.

My house needs serious clean time.
At one point someone had a room by room checklist they liked that helped them tackle a deep clean.
Anyone still have that?

White. I think it will look good but also hedges your bets because it’s far easier to paint dark over light than the reverse.

“Adults” of the forum,

Do you have like… A dinner time? Like a time at which you consistently sit down to eat dinner?

Is this a people with kids thing?

How do you time it properly? Or is it just nearish the dinner time? What’s like, the slop?

I read on Reddit a post recently where someone complained that they always had dinner ready at 6 and their husband was never ready and I was like AT 6? Not around 6, like at 6 you both sit down to eat and the food is both ready and not yet getting cold at that moment?

And then my friend said she could come at 4 or 5 because dinner was AT 6.

Sincerely someone who has always had dinner between the hours of “someone got hungry” and “someone made food” o’clock.

We don’t have a set dinner time! On his workout days I usually make dh dinner after he works out and I eat earlier if I’m hungry before that. On nights that we eat together it’s just a matter of when we’re hungry. I’m ok with being the cook/waitress in a sense so I don’t mind being asked for dinner whenever, or even snacks or smoothies or whatever. But I can see why some cooks wouldn’t want to deal with that. And I think if I had a big family that would be a hard no-go, I’d probably set an asses-in-seats dinner time and if you missed that you could get leftovers out of the fridge. But as it’s just two of us I don’t really mind making things on demand. And he doesn’t mind if I eat without him because he’s busy, etc.

Ours isn’t strictly set, but we have a pretty good daily rhythm (and strong biological rhythms) so we end up eating within a 30min-1hr window every day. We DO have a strict, like to the minute bedtime for ourselves though.

I don’t have a set dinnertime but 6 is too early and 8 is too late. If I’m exercising in the evening, it’s usually 7:00-7:30, if I’m not then maybe 6:30. I try to eat at least 3-4 hours before I sleep because I sleep better. And because I want to have room for my bedtime cookies :joy:
