@diapasoun The Garment just did a lingerie pop up a few months ago and they featured a few brands that do a lot of really good things and some have custom sizing and meet The Garment standard which is extra cool. They’re on the more expensive side but they’re on my list for my next big buy of this kind of stuff once nursing is over.
https://impishlee.com - offers custom sizing and had rave reviews from all the Garment people who bought
If I make banana bread with water instead of milk, am I dooming my tastebuds to disappointment? I am craving banana bread but don’t have any nondairy milk in the house, nor do I feel like making any.
Does anyone have opinions on Trader Joe’s tamales? I have a friend who likes them and I looove a good tamale but I also question my friend’s standards tbh…
No. Banana bread is really just a dense cake, you’re fine without milk! One of my favorite recipes doesn’t have any liquid in it, actually, and it’s still really good.
I like the green chile ones. They’re not, like, amazing street vendor tamales, but for something I put in my face after a minute in the microwave I’m very happy. I sometimes have them for breakfast at work because we have a microwave there.
ETA: I am talking about the frozen ones, which are much cheaper. Never tried the fresh ones, who got the money for that.
My oldest, Karma, does this too. I scoop daily and it’s honestly a bigger pain scooping because she pees on the sides. Boxes with covers with overlapping box/cover to prevent leaks is my go-to. Every other week I do a full thorough clean including enzyme cleaners.
Do you want good support, or comfort. Please choose. The bralettes will at most give you the support of a decent swimsuit. But also will stretch out faster. My best recommendation is to go to a maternity store and check out nursing bralettes. The sizes will be weird because they are pre-pregnancy size plus a random guess as to what people will swell to. They make sleeping ones.
Generally a well fitting bra that is well constructed will feel like magic and be sleep worthy, but fluctuations in size will make it noticeable again.
I find the triple D at Victoria secret is a vanity size. But IF it works for you, they do sports bras in cup sizes that felt decent to me even though I had to go up a band to fit in a cup (but didn’t purchase)
@Clare-Dragonfly I vote for using water. Also there’s a rule about no more than 3 consecutive replies to a thread. I just broke it
For most of the time, I want support, hence my underwires – but I do want at least one bra that is comfort-oriented.
That’s interesting about nursing bralettes – what makes them different from a regular bralette, other than potential ~extra flaps? Are they just easier to find in larger cup sizes?
My sports bra is actually a 32DDD from VC, haha. The thing is a serious harness. I’ve never been able to find a sports bra in my size anywhere else, alas, because most lingerie shops I’ve been to don’t seem to carry sports bras (and I don’t like buying bras without trying them on).
32DDD is actually my measured size following the recs from r/abrathatfits (bless that place), which is definitely lucky – I can find some stuff at a place like VC, at least, if not in department stores.
That’s why I’m recommending them! They have cute, mainstream looking ones, in bigger cups and designed for pyjama life. With weird labels. It looks like they mostly use a crossover to yank the boob out, not the flaps.
I am also a 32F, mostly. Lots of boob twins around here, apparently!
This is my favorite bra these days. NO UNDERWIRE. It’s not supportive enough for me to run in for long distances (I have a different bra for that), but I actually like it best for daily wear. It’s technically a sports bra, but it doesn’t totally mash you down. It’s super supportive and comfortable. Not cheap though! Oh, and I feel like it runs a little big - I wear a 32E.
Does she do it often? When I had a covered box and she peed up on the sides, it got in the areas where the top and bottom met, and was really annoying to clean. It’s almost easier to clean the flat floor instead.
