I do have an etsy shop, but I haven’t restocked it since all my paintings came out of storage - will post when I do

Ours was from Best But and wasn’t that great, but when I tried to sell when we moved I found out that there are like 30 $50 portable dishwashers on Craigslist/FB marketplace at all times.

If I was to do it again I’d get a rolling butcher block one instead of a countertop one.

I want proper info on hormones related to PMS. But I’m very ://// about a lot of the sites that pop up on google.

Reason for asking is trying to figure out what will kill PMS for me.
Low dose testosterone?
Progesterone birth control??

Ahhhh

Anyone with sources please tell me how to learn some of this science???
@katscratch @Bracken_Joy @Elle off the top of my head.

Eta: PMS is the shittiest thing for me. It’s when I deal with dysphoria and sleep issues and I would like to bypass it forever. Fertility is completely unimportant. I’d yank the whole thing I’d it wasn’t such a bear to get done.

Most of my menstruation side effects have gone away after getting the nexplanon, arm implant birth control thing. I do have more acne, but the bleeding and major mood swings and cramping have gone away. Might be something worth investigating? I do get some feelings around when I would have, but nothing like before.

Edited: Would reaching out to planned parenthood be an option to get some facts on how best to manage these symptoms?

Have you talked to your good doctor about increasing brain drugs for pms/pmdd? I have done that when on brain drugs and actually need it again. My brain is broken as shit so I can’t look much up, but I think that progesterone birth control (or maybe even yam cream you rub in a related zone) may help but I think that brain drugs (ssri, snri types) could be the shit. Either an add on or a higher dose. b6 and evening primrose are also used for those issues. And alcohol but that isn’t a long term plan.

If you go to a ttc site they explain the hormone fluctuations and the cycle days well and you can look at which days. And antidotes and effects

But if it’s brain stuff sad making you need brain stuff. A d hormone progesterone estrogen testy and androgens so strong and multieffective that it could be more effective and less side effective to just attack slevifics

The single best resource (and I INCLUDE my repro textbook) that I’ve seen for this info is “taking charge of your fertility”. So much information. Although it’s been a long time since I’ve read it, so I don’t remember anything about the tone. I know other people describe it as “dry” which is frankly promising :joy:

ETA agree though that following up with Good Doctor is a good option. This shit gets crazy complicated.

Thank you both @Bracken_Joy and @Elle
My very lovely doc already suggested upping the SSRI I’m on during PMS times  so y’all are clearly smart. I’m just… Trying to figure it all out. :muscle:

Just saw your reply too @Marcela ty!! That one is a progesterone bc option I’m p sure so that’s good intel. I’m lucky to have a good doc I trust :muscle::muscle: but am trying to use Science brain a bit to figure out what I even want LOL

I’m late to the party but I think researching PMDD will get you better results online than searching PMS.

I feel like every body responds a bit differently to supplemental hormones and it’s like anything involving brain - a little trial and error is usually necessary.

All of the everything went away for me on low dose progesterone, first with the shot years ago and then with a pill. Never tried an implant because that shit squicks me out.

So, the women I know who use low does test (20mg a week-ish) have no PMS and often no period at all. This would be on test prop. Anavar, also popular, made periods lighter but not go away all together. Nandrolone phenylproprionate at very low does stopped all periods, but also was more likely to cause hair loss than test. Primobolan didn’t seem to have an effect on the menstrual cycle until fairly high dosages. We don’t recommend anything meant for cattle, horses, or dogs. (Tren, EQ, Mibolerone) under any circumstance.

Agree with this. The problem with issuing more specific advice is that everybody reacts very differently. I’ve seen people get low mood or euphoria both from dropping or rising estrogen and progesterone (either natural or exogenous). Sleep disturbances from going on or off progesterone. Etc. Not to mention wild ones like prolactin that can vary through the cycle and do weird shit. It’s just so, so individual apparently. I’m honestly not sure we know enough to have really specific advice. The only thing is that I think it is low progesterone birth-control that helps with PMDD because it kind of tamps down everything else right? That would be my best guess :woman_shrugging: But I truly don’t know.

I will say, as a wild card, the birth control methods that have made my period lighter and shorter historically also give me intense rage attacks. :upside_down_face: So just know that some things that give certain good factors can also do some weird mental health stuff.

My OBGYN put me on a birth control for PMDD, it made it worse, and my psych told me that actually only helps in about 1/3 of cases. So now we are playing with lots of other stuff.

Hormones are insane things though. I didn’t even have PMS before having 3 pregnancies, and now I have really awful, debilitating PMDD.

Recommendations. An alternative to the reminders app on iPhone.

Likes:
It reminds me to do a thing, on a day, at a time, without me needing to click into the app to see it.
Ideally it’s free or cheap. I don’t need many bells or whistles. I don’t care about streaks, or history, or projects or anything like that.
I can set the reminder via Siri.

Dislikes:
I don’t want it to be social.
I don’t want to need to use a desktop computer to set it up. It should be fully mobile.

Basically, I want it to work exactly like the reminders app, but I want it to work better. The need of reminders app on my phone frequently will not notify me, or it will show the wrong notification.

Is this a thing?

Set a daily alarm and rename it to what you need to be reminded of?

I don’t want it to make loud and obtrusive noises. That’s a disaster in the making with a baby.

Hmm. I usually just put this stuff in my calendar and set the calendar event to notify me. Not sure if that would be viable for you or not.

Ah that’s an idea, I could check one of the calendar apps. Ty.

I have alarms set with no noise or buzz. It just pops up. The calendar function is what I usually go with though.
