There is no space for one that size in my apartment and I do not have the budget for that kind of expense.
No worries there. There’s no room to line dry anything here.

I think a guiding principle of these forums (in addition to gardens and cats) is to take people at their words on what their budget is.
@Illathrael has stated that:
AKA, suggesting for her to purchase a $200 appliance with a large footprint is not helpful and reads as insensitive at the most generous of reads.
I wasn’t trying to dispute the budget. I listed the price of our own unit more to give a sense of size (I.e. shorter about about the same floor space as a kitchen trash can). You can often find them used for cheap or free.
Also wasn’t trying to argue about the space, just was surprised given my own context (less square footage with 5x the number of people) and that I thought a full size dehumidifier did the job so well I personally thought it would be worth the floor space. I know that over the years I have often felt like our space was cramped until new ideas/context gave us a lot more usable space.
I don’t know what your space looks like but I know you have much more usable space than I do as you mention a basement, have livestock and your spouse leaves for work. All of my living and my work is in my apartment. I do not have space for an appliance. The small humidifier mentioned for $50 above is out of my budget, that I clearly stated was $30 for house cleaning items. It also could sit on my table or counter rather than taking up space on the floor which is not an option.
Thank you everyone for replying to my question, but I respectfully request this discussion be closed now.
I’ve used those computer glasses that block blue light at work a couple of times and I think if I did it consistently it would help. They have no magnification. My question is whether I can use similar ones for tv watching. I wear glasses for distance when watching tv, so maybe they wouldn’t even work. If I wanted to wear the blue blocking ones, would I get ones with some magnification?
You can get the blue light tint put on your normal glasses. I had a pair with and one without made when I last got new glasses. I think you could see if a local glasses place could add the tint to an existing pair.
Is it actually possible to closely match paint? I need to paint stair side thingies, and I’m trying to match the paint on the wall, and of course I bought a big bucket and it doesn’t quite match.
Should I just re-paint the whole wall the color I got? I don’t actually know what to do.
It is definitely tricky to match paint! Depending on sun exposure, paint can also fade a little. Paint the whole section if you want it to match. How big of an area would you have to paint.
I was hoping to just paint the “walls” flanking the stairs and the patched trim, but it’s gonna look real wonky I think unless I get an exact match or paint the entire wall that those flanking walls are touching.
Pic for helping show:
So the little outcropping thing on the side of the stairs needs to be painted, and since I filled cracks on the sides the paint can’t just end at the wall or you’ll get the color of the patching showing through. So For this stairway, I would end up painting the entire hallway. It’s almost tempting to just pick another color for the hallway and walls near the other stairs and make accent walls and stuff, it just seems maybe a bit overkill?
I would go accent walls all the way. But then again, it doesn’t take much convincing for me to add colour to a space.
Meanwhile I’m considering… Grey accent walls…
Name checks out.
Maybe paint a small section and see how it dries? My life has been nothing but painting recently so I’m pretty biased in favor of not making more work for yourself. But an accent color could be fun too.
Ok, that does seem a bit off. I think gray would be nice with the wood floors.

Excellent thank you
Green tea recommendations? Husband is almost through all the H Mart tea bags we had. He loves matcha, but a- expensive and b- no time for prep with the baby. He didn’t like the H Mart tea all that much, since it was very weak compared to other ones he’s has (we had a uwajimaya jasmine green tea before this he liked). He doesn’t like the Kirkland ones since they use plastic wrappers on each tea bag.
I’ll consider loose leaf, but we don’t have anything like a tea ball to use with it (I suppose we do have a French press, but it seems like cleanup would be a headache with #babylife).
Thanks all!
