You are the perfect height for relaxing on the couch. I think the universe is telling you something.

How did you get so wise

I relax on the couch a lot.

I need to make some important life changes.

Truly an inspiration. I think you’ll be as heartbroken as I was, knowing that while I was playing with the living room lights, no one was there.

Maybe I should install the app for my brother’s smart door lock and start ominously locking and unlocking.

Haunt them all. It’s seasonally appropriate.

It’s only tonight that I’ve figured out a possible reason for smart devices

Last year (in another lifetime) I was working from home and my husband had a job in an office. We had our Christmas tree lights plugged in to a smart switch, and while he was at work he would turn the lights on to tell me that he loves me.

Will this have the same effect when we’re both working from home?

This is legitimately a reason I don’t have smart devices other than my phone.

Then how can your loved ones show love by turning off lights or making the living room soho or savannah?

Alas, they are barred from that method of showing love. (This is ideal, as changing the lighting is very much not my love language.)

I occasionally take over my husband’s echo dot and make it play cheesy love songs. I’m on board with @Elle’s love languages here.

Smart devices are not my love language, but my “fuck off” language. I once told friends who were still chatting with Greyman to go home from my bed by playing “the party’s over” on our bluetooth speakers.

I remember doing this in 2000 when we discovered we could print to other people’s printers or remotely control their mouse if they set up their network wrong in the dorm. It was fun to pretend to be a ghost.

I’m not a onesie person, but I keep getting ads for this old navy jumpsuit (probably because I clicked it the first time I saw it) and have had an irrational desire to buy it for DAYS now. Should I get it? Does anyone have a recommendation for something comparable, maybe from a smaller/cooler company, or in more fun colors? Would need to be no more expensive than this one, because I can’t even really justify this in my budget

What is the correct electric toothbrush to get? Are any of them more ethical/environmentally friendly than others? What about price and reliability?

I didn’t research because at the time the only brands easily available to me were oral-B and Sonicare which have identical amounts of plastic so I went with the one my dentist recommended for my mouth shape and brushing style, and then got a massive discount buying it through them. I figured if I was going to make the jump instead of using the bamboo brushes I’d used forever I should get the one that would have a noticeable impact or it wouldn’t be be worth it.

I’ve had a quip for a while, I think at least a year? I think it was around $25 for the brush and then $5 every 3 months for a new brush head and battery, shipping included. I’ve had several others, both rechargeable and nonrechargeable, and this has been my favorite. It’s just really simple and works well, and I do like the timer.

I got a Sonicare because my dentist recommended it. My teeth+gums are massively healthier after using it for 3 years now. I always thought I did a pretty good job at teeth brushing with a regular brush, but it’s like a night and day difference now since using the electric toothbrush.
