Boxes. All the boxes.
Cardboard scratchers, a post, these things called catnip bananas (toys in the shape of a banana filled with catnip), little balls with bells in them. I’d say a bed but generally my cats prefer cardboard boxes.
If you have a book of poetry, how do you read it? Do you read one poem and then, like, sit with it for a bit before moving on to the next one?
Signed, a person who regularly churns through novels in about two days.
I’m not much of a poetry person but I’d read it more like, pick up and read one poem, then put down until later that day at earliest. Read something else in the interim
Oh hai, it me.
I tend to sit with a poem only if there are lines (or general mood, or something) that really strike me. Then I usually also copy it into my reading notebook to continue the experience. If nothing stands out, I just keep reading and go to the next poem I personally like the experience of reading a bunch of poems back-to-back.
This me.
I’ll also bookmark really good poems and return to them frequently.
My work’s open enrollment is approaching so I think it’s time to think about switching from buying additional life insurance (for me and my spouse) through work to getting it independently. Where do I start?
Oh gosh, I should think on that myself. I have a decent amount free from work but want to add more soon because reasons
How is Sprocket’s tongue so small and cute and then he yawns and it turns out to be 50 metres long?
I think we need some photos to help figure out the mechanics of that.
I will do my best but I don’t have access to his yawning schedule so it might be tricky.
For a savings of approximately $60 would you buy used iPad (battery is used, allegedly 80% or higher than brand new capacity) or just get a brand new one?
My oldest is thinking of using money she’s saved up along with Christmas gift $ to get her own personal iPad mini, which runs either $325 used via Amazon or eBay with excellent reviews or $385 new at Costco. For me personally I think I’d go brand new for that amount of savings but since it’s not me buying it I’m curious what others would do.
I would go brand new for that, personally.
We just bought an ipad over the summer, we went with an older gen but new from Apple.
Yeah, I also wonder how they certify the batteries, because unless something changed at hardware level in the latest gen of iPads versus my previous gen model, they don’t show battery life/health (unlike even my iPhone 7 on the current OS version)
She specifically wants the mini model, which hasn’t been updated in a few generations until now, so I don’t think buying that gen would make sense for longevity reasons. (Though my wife’s is still great.)
Cat dancer, flat mouse (the best ones are made from real rabbit fur and yes I am vegetarian but they love them), tall cat tower with lots of nooks and surface types, Greenies treats (occasionally) to try to help with dental stuff though it isn’t really that effective.
Anyone have a knockout rye bread recipe? I prefer dark, but will take anything. My sourdough starter is dead (well, grew mold) and I don’t have the energy to start it up again in the current environment, so using active dry yeast.
Why am I too short to do any of the chores I want to do
I don’t know, but I am too.
