Please help my patio/backyard be nicer

Chipping away on this! This side yard has been CRAZY. I looked for before pics, but just picture the jungle, but half of it is four foot tall dead weeds? We stomped a path through, but otherwise it was impassable? You can kind of see it to the left in this pic.

I hacked, pulled, and weed whacked my way through, and this area is now clear! PLEASE clap.

Do you all know how to take apart a chain link dog run? We want to take out the half that isn’t actively part of the fence, and eventually open up that area. I also don’t want to have to weed it continually, but I don’t want to add more mulch, since eventually we’d do something else here.

Yes. If it’s like the kit I assembled and disassembled. The wire walls should be tied to the vertical supports on one of the ends. You need to clip any wires tying it on and then walk around the run rolling it up - cutting anywhere it is connected. Should be one long roll. Then you need to take the frame apart. The door should be a single part. I think that one has a roof - they might be panels you remove as one piece.
If you do it without breaking it, you should be able to sell it.

This might be totally different though and be made of premade panels?

I don’t know what most of those nouns mean, so this is a good starting point! I’ll investigate.

Did anyone think I quit trying to make my patio/backyard be nicer? If so you would be WRONG! We’ve been doing lots of shopping, some iterating, and mail waiting.

We initially wanted to use cheapy plastic no-dig edging around the raised bed area and native plants area, and started to put it in. I realized it wouldn’t serve the purpose that we wanted it for, so we went back and bought this kind of edging to encircle the raised beds area.

I also bought heavier duty, dig-required plastic edging for the native plants area. It will be more annoying to install, but hopefully means no grass creeps into the area.

Raised beds are allegedly coming in the mail today. This weekend, I want to put in the edging in both areas, add mulch to the raised bed area, build the raised beds, mix up the dirt for the beds, get my starts into the raised beds, amend the native plants soil a little, plant the native plants, and put some mulch on those bad boys too. It kind of sounds like a lot but we’ll do what we can.

That looks like such a huge project! It’s already looking so much better and I’m sure it’s going to be amazing when it’s done!
