That’s the fun part about arbitrary lines when you have a net worth this high

last I checked, we were back to about August, and still another day and a bit of trading before we get our official mark in the sand. (to be fair, we’ve pulled out some money ytd, so it isn’t all market swings)

If not for the money we pulled out in Jan/Feb, we’d be pretty much flat ytd. But instead we’re back to about Oct 2025.

ngl, this graph is pretty bonkers, cognitive dissonance stuff.

we would be back to February, but I took out a bit of cash to start rebuilding the cash wedge we destroyed last year (assuming they don’t find anything appalling when the windows are replaced, in which case, this is just prep for covering that)

Speaking of last year, happy one year anniversary of the house work starting. It’s also just over 4 years since I officially left my full time job, and 10 months since my contract gig finished.

Wanting to get that down to 55! :joy:

But also glad to be here. We’re at that point where the investments just kind of… do their own thing with very little effort from us.

I remember that, when each month was about trying to drag the date earlier, but also knowing that my efforts were only a small component of what happened (or not)

it changes the mental calculus in some ways, “is this thing worth pushing back my retirement date by 2 weeks?”

It does!

And tbh I need to do some of that calculation.

Ok but question, anyone got a good algorithm/spreadsheet formulas set up for this?

Such a pain to figure out “first I need to calc this, and then that, and then this.”
