It seems like it should work, right?
For getting stuff I know it is more time sensitive and this may not work but you could schedule like 10 minutes per day and stick to it!
Definitely need to time box it and go in with a plan for what I want so I don’t spiral lol.
Definitely. If I were you I’d get a jar of perpperoncini too, and maybe use a bit of the liquid in it for dressing (plus the other italian dressing ingredients).
Ohhhh baby now we’re talkin!
I do that for pasta salad too fwiw! I think it makes a huge difference.
BABY WE GOT A STEW GOING! Hahah, IDK why you reminded me of that.
I think I heard BN was working on a standalone app/site, but it’s not out yet?
It is out! Just not as many people using as the groups still, last I checked.
Downloaded!
My understanding is that each individual group is deciding whether to use FB, the app, or a combination. My local group is still using FB exclusively. I don’t think we have any plans to transition (I’m on FB for BN, local mom group, and FB marketplace - which I’ve found to be fantastic for baby gear)
Yes, my group has also decided to stick to FB only. There is a group on the app that overlaps our FB group, but it is like, the whole denver metro area instead of just our little neighborhood so it isn’t really the same thing at all. I don’t want to drive 45 minutes to another suburb to pick something up.
Yeah it’s def not the same thing at all IMO!
Our group gained a lot of members in the pandemic and was due to split, but some people threw a fit and they did something weird with overlapping groups that wasn’t technically allowed? Idk. I stayed in the same group because I’m lazy .
The app looks like it doesn’t have explicit groups, but you can pick a radius to see posts in (as low as 0.5 mi) . I actually love that because I’m in the corner of my zone so across the street is a different group but many pickups are 2 mi north.
I plan to cross post and tell the group about it and see what happens.
Well, I could have ordered takeout tonight, but instead I thawed chicken drumsticks in the microwave and am marinating them in a honey garlic sauce. I had company all afternoon and Hubby was on a bicycle ride this afternoon. He’s sleeping it off, so I’m taking my time and making a nice supper.
The frugal life is about choices for me. Do I choose the lazy way, or do I go the frugal route? I’m a very happy camper when the lazy way ends up being the frugal way too! Like not bothering to replace clothing every season because, well, frankly I don’t need to!
Routines certainly save me money. When I had kids living at home we set aside certain days of the week for certain activities (wash day, baking day, crafting day, sewing day, cleaning day, errand day, rest day). Sticking to that schedule helped me focus on what needed to be done when. I got a lot done using that schedule.
I’m only on the app and definitely see some people who note that they are cross posting. There’s been some growth over the past few months for sure and I’ve had success with gifting and getting things.
(Like @noodle I really don’t get along with Facebook)
Today’s meal prep:
Plain rice
Plain black beans (dry in IP)
Next up in the Instant pot is this:
Produce discards from $6 discount bag,
Frozen oil and herb cubes I made
Frozen homemade pesto cube
Frozen salsa (I freeze extras from Mexican takeout)
Lentils
Seaweed for some kick
Frozen oil and herb cubes I made
That’s a brilliant idea!!! Also that pile of produce looks so beautiful.
Just to brag, I even forgot that a homemade veggie stock ice cube goes in this too
I made a fantastic salad tonight! Kale (all ribs removed, and leaves massaged) + Dried Cranberries + Sliced Almonds + Loads of Parmesan + Creamy Italian Dressing. Someone else should try it…seriously, it’s really good.
I’ve made similar before. SO GOOD.
I am glad you know the tastiness. I don’t even usually like kale!
I have made something similar (in the way that it is a salad with cranberries and almonds and I subbed everything else ) great combo. I have done salad leaves/ cranberries/ sliced almonds/ chopped chicken/ creamy mayo. So good.
