Money moves for the new world?

I continue to have a long-term investment horizon but yet keep checking the accounts, even though it is generally making me feel bad

Yes that’s what I meant by bonds are weird. But there are other bonds! not all bonds are US treasury debt… RIP the 90 day treasury bill interest being used as the “risk free rate”

All I can say is that this is making it clear to me, yet again, that the stock market has so little to do with the actual economy and everything to do with investor confidence. People’s retirements are hingeing on the word of a madman.

Up 2962.86 which is a good chunk of what it went down over the last couple of weeks.

This sucks so much for everyone, but especially those hoping to retire soon. Completely echoing anomalily that this is not your fault. This was not some random correction in the market caused by factors, it was deliberate sinking. We’re on a similar timeline for DS’s college fund - not the same ballpark of money, but we need something to be there in 2030 :grimacing:

I feel you; I’m at six and a half years myself. But if nothing else, things will look different in some way after his term ends, whether that ends in 4 years or when he has an aneurysm or something during one of his rage fits. I think we’ll see more sanity at that point.

And if he stays the course for much longer, he’s liable to lose the support of the billionaire class because they’re going to lose a fuckton of money.

We’re at about 95% equities, but we do have two pensions that until all this were about as stable as pensions could be. I’ve always considered that our bond allocation.

I saw a disturbing video about that lately… and we know short videos on the internet never lie

The last step I remember was this one, then there was another more convoluted step making them even more rich:
Basically they have all of this money by borrowing against assets. So lets say they borrow against x when it is worth $100/share. If it drops to $10/share and they let the bank seize the asset…they didn’t lose. I’ll try to find the whole thing.

Tax the billionaires or off with their heads

I offer a look into my marriage. We are making a list of the last few things we need before/in case supply chains go wonky for awhile. The first section is my additions, the second is my wife’s. Who is the fun person in this marriage lol

(Stuff for kids in basement - she means toys)

I am deeply troubled by the lack of toiletries. And maybe food. Are you both just water and perfect skin people or are you prepared to risk bad skin for supply chains?

Also books for the basement.
