Background: a billionaire (i think?) who is into preventing climate change decided, rather than funding his own political party he’d fund independents to appeal to right-wing “I’m a centrist” voters (economically conservative, but believe in climate change, roughly). Mostly white women. They’re known as the “Teals” (because our conservative party is blue, and these folk have a Green tilt.)
It seems to be effective, thanks to preferential voting.
There’s an Alabama song features the lines “Well, somebody told us that Wall Street fell / But we were so poor that we couldn’t tell.” That’s not me anymore, but I remember what it feels like. Time to plant some more of the seeds I saved last year.
We live on the top of a lil ridge, where a bunch of winds make huge updrafts. We get turkey vultures all summer here. Some of the neighbors think it’s “creepy”, but I love it!
The frogs have not yet arrived here. We are still getting freezing temps. I can’t wait for them though! We have a decent sized pond that they LOVE in our yard.
A couple of years ago I was outside and saw a turkey vulture sitting on top of my house. I took a pic and asked someone what it was. Scared the hell out of me.
you’re both definitely right! I just feel a little funny feeling joy around a schoolyard bullying tactic. but it is certainly outshone by a desire to #bullythebillionaires
