Life hack: on some printers, if you only use black ink but they lock you out for being out of blue? You can put a sticky over the side of the colored cartridges and they read as full and you never need to replace them or worry about them drying out.

The thing that bothers me is I have a printer that has a scanner.
It won’t let me scan without ink.

I AM HAVING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH MY WORK PRINTER RIGHT NOW!
There must be a solution (right?) but my toner is also supposed to be delivered today so I’m just living with it at the moment.

It also works on my laser printer. It stops working when the toner led becomes red but if I tape a piece of paper in front of the sensor, I can still print approx. 100 pages!!!

Hugs for the worry and fear about returning to work! I’m also an essential worker and feel anxiety and conflict about possibly getting infected from my job. My org has been pretty clear about the steps they’re taking to minimize our risk and we do have PPE. I hope you find out soon what your school is doing to keep people safer AND I hope that it’s genuinely enough, not a skimpy response because they’re prioritizing other things over safety.
Sorry for the thread derail. These memes are great but sometimes also a reminder that this pandemic is just horrible.
