My house was routinely 61F (16C) over winter. I used the baby thermometer to check. That makes me feel better about using my heater. (During the night. Warmer over the day, generally).
We just don’t turn on our heat more than once a year. We didn’t even have to turn it on when it was 20F/-6C here. Advantages of living in a 3rd story apartment in a ~10 year old building.
68 is the perfect temp (unless I’m at work and then somehow it’s too cold) but I let my house get up to 83 in the summer (during day) and down to 64 (also during day) in the winter before taking action.
Perfect sleeping temp is 55 and a giant comforter.
Correct. I’m glad someone else knows this
Absolutely agree. The comforter should be a bit fluffy, but with some good heft to it also.
55 with a heavy down comforter. Cold nose and everything else is warm is the perfect way to sleep!
We kept the house overnight at 55 (in the winter) until we have kids.
Now winter overnight heat is 63, daytime is 68.
Summer a/c is at 78.
My ideal is like, cold winter night, windows open. Down comforter, Pendleton style wool on top. Fluff, and heft.
Yep my temperature variation has declined SUBSTANTIALLY since having Latte. Any time I try to mess with the thermostat, it messes with her sleep, and that is not a trade I’m willing to make.
I sleep better cooler so I’ve had to suck up higher AC bills this summer. It’s kinda stupid to sleep badly if money fixes the problem.
I feel like there’s a lot to unpack in this post.
I don’t think those worked
Dammit this again. Thank you for letting me know!
