I will never not laugh at those. I’ve seen a few variations, which lets me know there are some delightful delivery drivers out there, and I love it so much.

I worked on a project with these bugs . After hatching they need several blood meals to progress to adulthood via various instar / molting cycles. When I would get near their mesh-covered containers they could sense me and they would push their probosces through the mesh in hopes of tapping into me.

No shit. The hatchlings were the worst - really small and FAST! Like that scene in Alien when they guy pushes up a hatch and sees them all heading his way FAST!
At least I didn’t need to feed them. And later I got to rip off the heads of the adults (to purify then crystalize a protein from their salivary glands).
