It doesn’t, though… It grows lots of things trying very hard NOT to be food. And largely failing.
People harnessed all those things and made them MORE food. And I don’t mean European agriculture, I mean Amazonian and Native American mad permacultural skills pre-1492.
…and then we got way too good at existing and reproducing…
I mean, I’m well aware. First degree was in evolutionary zoology, I have been through many an ecology class. I would argue that’s what food IS- even now. The stuff on our grocery shelves doesn’t really want to be eaten either. (Although to quote/paraphrase Michael Pollan, “what is good for Cows is bad for the cow”).
I feel like I’ve seen this episode and Tiger Mum got annoyed and asked them to clean it up… But damage is already done, toddlers already seen the sand inside then house.
