If this is you… you don’t have to worry about Biden’s tax plan.

Cough cough. Well. I put on my PJs after I washed my hair. My hair is nearly dry :grimacing: so like… 4.5 hours now?

I just don’t bother changing out of my pajamas in the first place. Efficiency!

And it should be noted that “raising taxes on those who make over $400K per year” is actually only increasing the tax rate on anything above $400K. So you still get a lower tax rate on the income up to $400K, and then if you make, say $425K, only the $25K is taxed at a higher-than-now rate. Those Democrats, just taxing us into the poor house…

I will gladly have my income raised to above 425k to pay more taxes.
I remember the first time we owed on our taxes and husband was grumbling. I told him how proud I was of us for getting to that point. It is a blessing to have so much income you need to pay more in taxes.

We paid a shitload in taxes in 2017, due to capital gains on our lottery ticket in the sky property sale. Like $xx0,000 in taxes. But that was because we had a capital gain of $x,x00,000.

I figured it covered any costs we might have while being on expanded medicaid due to our ability to manufacture a low income for the next decade (we are basically living off the savings from a big chunk of that capital gain) until we reach SS and RMDs when we turn 70 (a little over 7 years for DH, 18 for me).

If Biden or any future administration wants to raise my taxes, I’ll deal. I have a slight preference for having more control over where and when my excess will go, but a big chunk of it going toward a better/stronger social safety net will also benefit me, my kids and any future descendents.

This this this. Our tightening restrictions mean husboo’s gym membership is suspended, which is good, because we’ve been paying 200/month since it reopened (July maybe?) To debate if a) going would improve mental health enough to be worth the low but rising risk and b) if it is, is there even time with a baby.

We were probably going to cancel this week since he may have gone in Feb or early March, but not since. Now we defer that until whenever. And we’re confused about why malls are still open. But other people are super upset? Why? (These are not people whose work is affected)
