I have been joking with my Trekkie friends that the new series is giving Degrassi High.
I am so apprehensive. I love trek. This takes place in the Discovery timeline, but I haven’t looked that closely into it because I don’t like to be spoilered, but Jett Reno (we love Tig Notaro) is in it as I think an academy teacher (so maybe near future Discovery and not far future Discovery). They have had SO many excellent wins in the new series - Discovery is great, Strange New Worlds is great, Picard doesn’t really understand it’s titular character but I still liked it a lot. But the Section 31 movie was dismal.
(I’m a Worf stan forever. He is one of the best characters. This would either be before his time, or long after it. Actually, I think there is a Gem’Hadar character? So like, I guess far future, since near future Discovery is contemporary to original Trek and Strange New Worlds.)
(This is not an issue of black guy = alien)
