Lord the thoughts, ahhhhhh
Erm. Sam carried the ring around his neck and also carried Frodo on his back. And then gave the ring up. Sam, Bilbo, Tom Bombadil all voluntarily hand over the One Ring like it ain’t no thing.
ETA ok sort of a thing for bilbo, but he had it a really long time.
Huh, will have to rewatch…I remember Bilbo, but I’ve got a weird memory of a quote from Sam “I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you.” No idea why it stuck in my head, but I thought he said specifically he couldn’t carry just the ring.
Oh, the movie. I have no idea what happened in the movie, though I have watched them and I do like them. But in the books, Sam carries the ring. Sam gives up the ring.
Ah, yeah, the last time I read the full series was probably middle school…tried again after the movies came out and remembered again why I prefer science fiction to high fantasy . So definitely from the movies.
Tolkien could have used an editor.
Is the Emu Export thing a reference to the Emu War? or the fact that a lot of West Aussies call Emu Export beer, Bush Chook?
I assumed a nod to the emu war
I read it as Emu War. I read the beer placement and hat as just to flag it as generically Australian.
