Allie Brosh is the best <3

ETA - I have definitely posted the Alot pictures in multiple places as an example

The ALOT is one of my favorite things ever.
Also Allie Brosh’s pain scale and the phrase “I like hot sauce a normal amount” (paraphrased).

Her second book wasn’t for me- I cried way too much. But I was so glad she published it, because we often wondered about her, and if she had died. Her first book I buy for everyone I know. It was incredibly hilarious.

I haven’t read the second one yet. I’m glad she’s doing alright, I was worried after the last few things she published on her website, followed by her kind of just disappearing.

She’s hilarious, and I often cry solely because I’m laughing so hard when I read her content

No, her second book, for me, was sad crying.
My husband didn’t find it as difficult to read, but it definitely had a different tone. She got divorced and her sister passed away, so I think that plays into it.

Her webcomics explaining depression were golden, but those are why I was always worried about her when she disappeared off the internet. It’s so weird to be worried about a stranger, but I know I wasn’t the only one.

My funny thing contribution

Her numbers are funny, extremely funny, but “Huh. I never knew that about giraffes” is my most reported pain level. Because I feel like “The ice cream I bought barely has any cookie dough chunks” should be reserved for the most serious of pain (like late stage labor) and “You hurt my feelings” should generally be shortly before death, only.

It’s a very different tone from the first, for sure. I’m enjoying it, but I also knew some of what was going on with her via extensive internet stalking and the “Oregon is a very small place” phenomena. I don’t know if that has helped it be less shocking?

I think part of it was it just hit me very personally. Which is probably why my husband didn’t think it was as sad as I did.

I still think people should buy it. She deserves all the money for her writing/drawing.
Because man do people steal it uncredited, and she’s brilliant.

I think I love April. The fact that her name is misspelled on either her sign off or her username is killing me.
