omg
More of this, please!!!
I’m tearing up at #11.
I love the first one. I love that journey of “what a pain this person is being… oh, wait!”
I once worked for a company that had separate sick and vacation time. They’d pay out unused vacation time but not unused sick time. When I handed in my notice to my boss she went into the system and changed all the vacation time I’d used that year to sick time before she submitted my resignation to HR.
Humans!!! We have the CAPACITY to be so GOOD to each other!!!
What did you think of the library one? That one was controversial in the comments
I wasn’t a big fan of that one. I generally feel like libraries should be content neutral about what people are using the computers for. And that behavior issues should be dealt with directly. Or by designing ways to make it not an issue (soundproofing around a hangout area, offering headphones, etc) That said, I understand the temptation to do something like that. I’ve definitely stood in front of a line of 12 year olds on the computer and been like “You. Are. Killing. Me.” while thinking “shut up shut up shut up!!!”
That one got me too! I should probably not read things like that at work.
Agreed!!
Amazing. When I started grad school I went from full-time to 50% at my job but HR accidentally still loaded the full amount of vacation days for the year into the system instead of half like it should have been. My boss told me to just pretend we didn’t realize and wait to see if HR noticed the mistake at some point before I left and got all those days paid out (HR did not notice).
Also, the week my grandpa died I used the full 5 days of compassionate leave that job offered. A few months later my family planned a memorial so I requested a few vacation days to fly back across the country for it. Right before leaving I happened to mention offhand in front of this boss that the trip was a memorial service and he kind of stared at me and was like, but why did you request vacation time, we have separate leave if it’s for a death in the family. I thought he had forgotten I’d already used that leave for the same dead relative, but actually he just thought it was obvious that it should still apply and went into the system to change it immediately.
That is so cool.
