Covid-19 discussion

It sucks not to have a washer/dryer at home right now.

Hah, that’s so awesome @anomalily ! It’s the weirdest combination of infuriating and validating at the same time. I mean I’ve only been begging for accommodations since I was 12…but now’s good.

Also, I don’t think anyone will take this away from this situation other than other people with chronic illness or disability. The second this is over it’ll go back to being business as usual, complete with “I can’t believe someone said that!” reactions and “have you tried yoga?” suggestions. LOL.

I mean… not sure why you’re wearing clothes, you’re retired!

Bahhahahahaha, I didn’t see the comment you were replying to and I was like well THAT’S a saucy non-sequitur!

also… “have you tried tumeric?”, “have you tried acupuncture?”

My WILDLY OPTIMISTIC hope is suddenly we’ll realize we need to make these reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, AND in the US WE’LL realize that paid sick time is requirement, AND we will realize our health care system is a shambles.

But that’s only when I’m feeling optimistic.

This made my day

… Although I do think my ratio of celebrating no pants versus other topics is pretty high :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I used my new work-from-home-all-the-time mode to justify the purchase of some very comfortable “work” leggings (i.e. not sweaty work out leggings) I have had my eye on this morning from poshmark.

SSO is still thinking about working all weekend with his dad who is >60 (and generally doesn’t think he’s at risk) on manual labor. How do I talk them both out of it?

Well I suppose that’s one option to avoid generating laundry :joy::joy::joy:

You need to get delivery do you don’t have to expose yourself. You need those lungs for double axels.

Boyfriend’s IT department is overwhelmed by the amount of work it apparently is to get the entire company set up for WFH when it’s generally not allowed. So, they don’t have a laptop ready for him yet. So his ass is still expected at work Or Else. SIGH. He works in downtown Chicago where there has been at least 1 confirmed case. His bosses are fucking dumb.

I start permanent (for the foreseeable future) WFH tomorrow.

Holy fuck that’s a long line! Although people seem to have a reasonable amount of “stuff” since the carts are small, and everyone seems calm and orderly. Thank goodness for smart phones, I guess. (Also see: stereotypical Canadian politeness. :upside_down_face:)

Oregon has 21 confirmed cases, but probably more realistically 250. if we keep expanding at current rate, we’re at a predicted 77,000 cases by late April. We banned public gatherings over 250 yesterday but didn’t ~~ close schools ~~ even though that’s a key fucking element.

Our governor today banned gatherings over 100 people.
