Best gentle parenting books

Having now finished it, if anyone has been wanting a basic “what to do and a bit of why” parenting book or like Cliff’s notes version of the “How to Talk, etc” and similar, this one is it. Lots of good examples, internal cross referencing using strategies together, straightforward non-condescending explanations and some science, zero parent gender/gender role assumptions, and soooooo many fewer anecdotes to wade through.

Additional caveat (which it also mentions), that some strategies may not jive with some kids, either in the moment or ever, and a lot is learning (and relearning) your own kid in terms of best approach. Also parental self-reflection is a critical component.

And doesn’t get into more challenging behaviors or potential different needs for ND kids, but overall a very sensible starting point (and returning point as kids grow and change) if you already know what kind of parenting you want to do but not necessarily specifically how to do it.
