A US Election Thread Where We Will Be Nice to One Another (but not to seditionists)

Loeffler is not against certification on the record, but still made it clear that she was going to vote that way until today happened.

Except Tim Kaine apparently. Dude put on your mask!

Also, I’m billing “incidental time” this afternoon because cannot focus…

Also, Cory Booker. Put your fucking mask back on, Cory, you know better!

I billed some “non-project time” too.

Dear lord all. I’m sorry. Take care and stay steady. Give yourselves time to heal over the next few. Pace yourselves if you can. Dip in and out (I say this as someone who survived a natural disaster). Keep yourselves safe in body, head and heart. I’ve got to get to sleep now, but am sending huge, huge hugs… <3 <3

I admit to laughing just now when the rep said “we the people. If those are the people, we are in a lot of trouble.”

Will edit with his name once I get it.

And just like that, all the objections are silent apparently.

Republicans never care about issues until it affects them directly. Trump finally threatened their safety.

MSNBC just said that Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao is considering resigning. She happens to be married to Mitch McConnell

It’s ironic and beautiful! The disrupters disrupted the process and caused those on their side to change their minds when the process resumed. Sweet!

Mitt Romney said that ‘we are here today due to a selfish man’s injured pride’ and I straight up cackled. Also I am shook that I am agreeing with Mitt Romney.

Romney has been pretty decent over these past 4 years.

And isn’t that a kicker? Would’ve never thought that while he was running for election against Obama.

Congresscritters sure do like to hear themselves talk. Can’t they get on with the vote reading already?

I believe because they were interrupted during the debate of the objection to the Arizona votes that when they reconvened they are technically within that period still. The debate period in the separate chambers is not to exceed 2 hours, so, I imagine that since the objectors will want to use as much time as possible, that those against the objection will also take as much time as allocated (until the 2 hours has passed and the body is reconvened). This will happen as many times as objections are filed. It sounds like there may be fewer objections than there would have been prior to today’s events, but that some of the senators were still planning on objecting, so this process will happen as many times as that happens.

Upshot to all of this: Everyone in the US now knows what the 25th amendment is?

I thought we’ve known since like week 3 of the presidency
