In practical news, guys, can we talk about what needs to be done by those of us outside DC today?
I’m writing all my reps right now (I feel like calling their offices is a bad fucking idea) and I am very much planning to attend the inevitable non-violent vigil at the local clock tower.
What else do I, as a citizen, need to do in order to show that I’m not down with coups?
There are tears in my household. Partner came home from the office because it’s a joke that any work might happen. I’m home from a walk and NPR is on the radio.
Sending love to everyone here.
This is a nightmare.
My husband is (possibly a master reframer?) saying that this is the death rattle of fascism in this country. They know they’ve lost and what’s happening is horrifying, but also a good sign because it signifies the end. He’s a flaming liberal, so it’s actually better to hear it from your mother. But yeah, I hope they are both right.
That, but when I started this thread…in February…I was concerned about stuff that was directed at the candidates “electability” which is code word for other stuff.
Ohhh how quant that looks on the other side of 2020.
trump saying “we love you, you’re very special” to the mobs … never has anyone ever moreso deserved any bad thing they ever get. irredeemable. i don’t think i can cry but i’m absolutely nauseous
I’m confident we will get this under control. I’m worried about individual life and safety.
Democracy wise, its a great moment for republican leadership to show their true colors as cowards and fascists. As an American it’s downright infuriating and humiliating that it has gotten this bad.
How did people handle their shit when 9/11 was unfolding? I know this isn’t the same. But this is domestic terrorism and I am not doing okay. Took the last 2.5 hours off work.
