Final 2023 numbers:

Mortgage Principal: 13,471.92
TFSAs: 16600
OMERS: 10213.90
RESP: 2500
Total YTD: $42,785.82

Additionally, I know I said I wasn’t counting car payments (depreciating asset etc), but we did put a $5000 pre-payment on the truck, so that was money that could have gone to TFSA’s but instead went to cutting about 8 months off of the truck payment. (So not included in numbers above but noted, because).

OMG so close to our stretch goal of $20,230 apiece! I should have checked earlier…

Monthly savings September-December

  • Me (regular pay): $395.75 pension, $347.50 HSA, $50 Roth457
  • Him (regular pay): $342.00 pension, $347.50 HSA, $500.00 Roth457

Add that to our YTD at the end of August and we get a grand total of $39,703 for the year.
